Welcome to Sicily! After arrival at Palermo airport, you will be greeted by our team and transferred to our accommodation in the Trapani area. We will spend the remainder of the afternoon exploring the ancient Greek ruins from the Magna Grecia era when the Greeks occupied Sicily. Afterwards we will head to the Marsala salt pans and learn about the history of the area. Finally enjoy your first aperitivo as you watch the sunset on your first day in Sicily and onward to dinner.
After breakfast we will head to the docks to board our private boat to explore the Egadi islands. The waters in this part of Sicily are some of the most beautiful in the world and our captain will take us to the top spots for swimming and beautiful views. Lunch will be on Favignana in one of the most picturesque spots on the island. Second half of the boat day will take us to Lenzano a tiny yet equally as gorgeous island where Prada has a home. Soak in the views and splash in the water. We will return to accommodation for some down time before spending the evening exploring Trapani and have a typical Sicilian dinner.
Spend the morning exploring Sicily’s first and arguably the most beautiful nature reserve. The Zingaro reserve is best explored by sea and we will do just that on another private charter. Take in the views of this magnificent coastline. Head to the charming town of Scopello for lunch and end with exploration of the medieval town of Erice.
We begin our journey across the island early to make it to Agrigento. The val de tempi are exquisitely preserved Greek ruins which you will have the opportunity to explore. We will venture a little further and make a stop at a small family run winery and taste among other grapes including Sicily's famed Nero d’avola grape. End with arrival at your new accommodation and enjoy in villa meal by your private chef.
Wake up in your stunning Sicilian villa , take in the views and enjoy a dip in your private pool. Your chef will prepare lunch in villa before we head out to Scicli, a UNESCO world heritage site and gorgeous baroque Gem. Private aperitivo at Frank’s home overlooking the city before we head out to have dinner with one of the best chef’s in the val di noto.
Depart for the Sicilian country side where we will have a tasting at a larger Medium sized winery. Wines will be paired with local Siclian food - an unforgettable afternoon ! After we will head to the nearby Caltigrione – historic city famed for their ceramic production. Explore it’s history, shop ceramics and learn why it became what it is today.
Venture to one of Sicily’s larger cities and explore its very ancient city center Ortigia. You will learn the long history of this once capital city as you wind down it’s narrow alleys. We will head to the nearby Marzamemmi, a once ancient fishing town which now is a picturesque spot to stop along the coast. Head back to rest before our evening cooking class led by a local.
This will be an early departure day as we head out to board our ferry for the island country of Malta. Our small group will be led by our own guide and we will explore this island from top to bottom. Explore the beautiful medina, capital city of Valleta and the neolithic sites on the island. We will return in the late evening for a casual dinner in villa to recollect on the day.
A relaxing morning after our busy day prior enjoy some time at the pool or head to a nearby beach. We will leave for Noto in the early afternoon. It is easily one of the most famous towns in Sicily and you will see why. Explore the beautiful town and an exquisite lunch. We will make a stop at a friends small scale winery and chat with him as we sip wine and watch the sunset. Our final stop will be a local pizzeria built in what was once an ancient cave dwelling.
Modica and Ragusa Ibla two baroque gems in one day is hard to beat! In the am we will take on Modica where we will taste the famed Modica chocolate and enjoy typical Modican cuisine for lunch. Our evening will begin with a tour of Ragusa ibla, unforgettable followed by dinner at a local restaurant just outside of town.
Our final day but before departure we will make a stop at the mighty Mt. Etna, Europe’s most active volcano. View the crater and take in the views before we head to Catania airport for departure. Airport arrival 4:30 pm.
Our ultra small group tour of approx. 8-12 people is a totally custom experience. While the above itinerary is very representative of a typical trip including types of activities and locations - our small size allows us to access many things otherwise not available to traditional large groups. Due to this we may change locations, experiences etc. to better suit the group and current trip closer to travel dates.
